Signed judgment

1. Having heard the parties, I find that the defendant is responsible for paying the plaintiff the requested sum of $300. Findings 2. The parties agreed to split the rent. They did not agree to split the bill. Accordingly, the bill is not to be considered in determining their agreement to split the rent. 3. The defendant did not pay half of the rent and therefore breached the agreement. Reasons 4. Under Rule 1, a claim requires proof. The defendant presented no proof that the agreement differed from the account given by both parties. 5. The defendant stated that the parties had agreed to split the rent. It is therefore unnecessary to assume that the plaintiff had to prove the defendant’s responsibility for agreeing to that arrangement; the defendant acknowledged the agreement himself. Order 6. The defendant shall pay the plaintiff $300.
